THERE IS MORE TO YOU THAN YOU THINK

There Is More to You Than You Think

**Introduction:**

Often, we view ourselves through the lens of our immediate circumstances or past experiences. However, the Bible reveals that there is far more within us—potential placed by God Himself. From David’s psalms of self-awakening to the apostle Peter’s miraculous acts, scripture is replete with examples of ordinary individuals doing extraordinary things through divine empowerment.

**David’s Declaration and Peter’s Miracles:**

David, in moments of despair, often spoke to his own soul, commanding it to rise to the occasion. Psalm 57:8 is one such instance where he says, “Awake, my glory! Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn.” David understood that his identity and worth were rooted in God’s purposes, not his present troubles.

Similarly, Peter’s journey reflects significant growth in spiritual understanding and power. In Acts 3, Peter heals a crippled man by faith in Jesus’ name, telling him, “Rise up and walk.” This miracle was a testament to Peter’s faith. By Acts 5, Peter had grown so much in spiritual stature that even his shadow falling on the sick resulted in healing. This progression showcases the remarkable potential that develops when one is fully yielded to God’s Spirit.

**Biblical Encouragement:**

– **Ephesians 2:10** reminds us that we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
– **2 Corinthians 4:7** states, “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.”

**Call to Action:**

– **Acknowledge Your Potential:** Spend time in prayer and meditation, asking God to reveal His purpose and the potential He has placed within you.
– **Engage in Faith-Filled Actions:** Step out in faith to use the gifts God has given you. Like Peter, trust that God’s power will work through you in mighty ways.
– **Encourage Others:** Share your experiences and growth with others. Your story might be the key that unlocks someone else’s potential.

**Prayer Point:**

Heavenly Father, thank You for creating us with immense potential and purpose. Help us to see ourselves as You see us—not as we are, but as we can be through Your power. Stir us to awaken our dormant abilities and to walk in the fullness of what You have ordained for us. May we, like David and Peter, rise to our callings and impact our world for Your glory. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
